Pest Control

Lifecycle Pest Control has been performing Pest Control Services for Broward and Palm Beach counties since 1990. We are an active member of the Certified Pest Control Operators Association. This association with over one thousand members is acknowledged by the state and serves as a continuing source of education in our industry. Our Comprehensive Pest Control Program consists of an initial intensive interior treatment and a full exterior perimeter service. Thereafter, regularly scheduled visits will be on an 8 week cycle working from the outside only. Should problems occur within your home, it will be treated accordingly at no extra charge.

Our pest control services include:

  • Inside & Outside Pest Control
  • Flea & Tick Treatments
  • Lawn, Shrub & Tree Applications for Insects
  • Wasp & Hornet Nest Removal
  • Attic and Crawl Space Inspections

What's going on in your attic?

AtticYour attic is a major part of your home.  It is a hot, dark and humid.  It's also a place we like to store or save certain items of value, sentimental or otherwise.

The square footage of a crawl space of a home in Florida is similar to the square footage of a basement of a northern style home. For the most part they run the full length of the home. The only difference is that up north the homeowner is constantly going into their basement. If there is a problem or a concern, it would be immediately noted and corrected.

When was the last time you were in your attic?

Our attics and crawl spaces are an ideal site for harboring and nesting every insect and rodent (including possums) prone to South Florida, and believe us, over the last twenty years we've met them all. Don't you want to know what's going on up there? Whether it's a bee's nest, rodent droppings, air conditioning problems, mold, rotting beams or just a good old fashioned roof leak, don't you want to know what's going on above your head?

As far as pest control goes, we believe in, "Preventive Medicine". Taking into account the climate in which we live, we found that an annual inspection and treatment of the attics and crawl spaces have been most effective for maintaining a safe and clean home environment. Not only does it help us to maintain an insect free home, our inspections have saved our customers thousands of dollars over the years.

Rodent

To prevent rodent entry, their capabilities must be understood. For example, rats and mice can:

  • Run along or climb electrical wires, ropes, cables, vines, shrubs, and trees to gain entry to a building
  • Climb almost any rough vertical surface such as wood, brick, concrete, and weathered sheet metal.
  • Crawl horizontally along pipes, augers, conveyers, and conduit.
  • Gnaw through a wide variety of materials, including aluminum sheeting, wood, rubber, vinyl, plastic, and     concrete block

Specifically Rats Can:

  • Climb the outside of vertical pipes and conduit up to 3 inches in diameter, climb the outside of larger pipes attached to buildings by bracing themselves against the wall, and climb the inside of 1 ½ to 4 inch vertical pipes.
  • Jump up 36 inches vertically and 48 inches horizontally
  • Drop 50 Ft. without serious injury
  • Burrow straight down into the ground at least 36 inches
  • Swim ½ mile in open water, dive through water traps in plumbing, and travel in sewer lines against a substantial current.

Specifically Mice Can:

  • Jump up 18 inches from a floor onto an elevated surface
  • Travel considerable distances hanging upside-down from screen wire
  • Survive and reproduce at temperatures down to 24 degrees F if adequate food and nesting materials are available.

Mold

Mold, especially in a tropical environment is literally a growing concern. National media attention has alerted the public to the destructive and possible toxic dangers of hidden mold spores that could affect their family's health and their homes. EPA studies indicate that air levels of indoor pollutants may be two to three times higher than outdoor levels. Mold, the most dangerous offender of all, often goes undetected because of its invisibility.

Most people spend as much as 90% of their time indoors and are not aware of the health hazards created by these spores. Since there has been so much media hype surrounding mold, prospective home buyers want a home that has been tested for mold. Mold sampling has become a standard practice during a home inspection. You should not buy a home with mold, sell a home with mold, or live in a home with mold. A mold inspector is your first line of defense. Our inspectors are certified, experienced and trained to detect any signs of an unhealthy environment.
